1. What is Mixzik ?

Mixzik is the place to share your videos with your friends, family and everyone else.

• To watch a video/ heard a music: make a selection from most recent, most popular, filter with tags or owner to play the selection!
• To share a music/video: register over here on Mixzik, upload the music/video to our site and come up with appropriate tags (keywords) so that other users can find your music/video.

2. How post a music/video ?

First, you have to create an account to add a music/video. Once logged in, an upload link will appear on the top navigation bar, select it. You now have to browse for the video you want to upload on your localdisk. Once selected, select SEND. The time it takes to upload your video will depend on your connection speed and the size of the video chosen.

3. What is a tag ?

Tags are pieces of information separate from, but related to, an object. In the practice of collaborative categorization using freely chosen keywords, tags are descriptors that individuals assign to objects.

Tags help solve this annoying little problem. Tags are keywords which you associate with videos after organizing them so that you can find them afterwords. Tags also help make your content accessible to others. The more you tag, the more you'll find, and the more you'll share

4. What is an RSS feed ?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a technology which will help both inform you, and gain some time. It lets you subscribe to information feeds, and to be alerted every time something new is added. It is required to use a program built to read an RSS feed. Just to name a few are Feedreader and Mozilla Thunderbird.

On Mixzik, these feeds are available on every page that contains a music/video ; tags, users, all musics, all videos, most popular videos,…

You can subscribe yourself to the feed All the music about before party, and you will be automatically alerted every time a music about before party is added to the site. The program that you have chosen to read the RSS feed will most likely notify you through the use of either a sound, or a message popping up on your screen.

5. What is a Podcasts ?

A podcast is a media file that is distributed by subscription over the Internet using syndication feeds, for playback on mobile devices and personal computers. Like 'radio', it can mean both the content and the method of syndication.

Though podcasters web sites may also offer direct download or streaming of their content, a podcast is distinguished from other digital audio formats by its ability to be downloaded automatically, using software capable of reading feed formats such as RSS or Atom.

6. How create my radio (playlist) ?

Once connected on your account, to click on the mitre to create my radio, to give him a name and to select the music/video which you wish to add to your playlist to click some on the mitre to add to my selection.

7. Which are the different space of storage that we propose to you ?

The basic subscrition offers to any user:

• a space of storage of 100mo (one mix or 10 songs)
• the creation of an informative page with photographs, biography, references, discography
• the possibility of rating and/or of posting comments
• the personalization of your playlist
• the subscrition to the newsletter
• the subscription in Podcast.

8. How to modify my subscription ?

If you wish increase your storage capacity, you pay us only the difference, without for 1 year again.

9. Can I use Mixzik without creating an account ?

Yes you can. You can watch all the public music/video, but you won't be able to comment, add music/video or create your radio.

10. Do I need to install anything in order to use Mixzik ?

To play musics/videos on Mixzik, you need the Macromedia Flash plugin (preferred) to be installed on your computer.

11. Should I accept cookies from Mixzik ?

Cookies are not mandatory, but they allow us to remember your login information on the website so that you don't have to enter your username and password every time you want to do something on the site.

12. How can I make my video/music appear in the Most popular video/music section ?

A video/music becomes popular when many users add it to their favorites.

The Most popular music list displays the music that have received the most votes in the last seven days.

13. Why can't I post comments on Mixzik ?

You have to be registered at Mixzik to post comments on musics/videos. Once registered, fill your login information into the form on the top right hand section of the site, and click OK.

14. How do I create an account with Mixzik ?

1. Just go to the registration page: http://www.mixzik.com/register
2. Enter a username, password and e-mail address.
3. You will quickly receive a confirmation email containing a hyperlink.
4. Use this link to confirm your email address with the Mixzik.
5. Welcome to the community!

15. Will I receive unwanted e-mail from my subscription to Mixzik ?

No, your email address will NEVER be sold or given away to anyboby.

16. How do I post a music/video directly onto my blog ?

Mixzik allows you to post your music/video onto a blog in just a few clicks! Once your video is published on your space, click export Player. You can insert the source code on your blog and your website.

That's it! A new post has been created on your blog containing your Mixzik music/video!

17. How can I delete a music/video ?

Go to edit music/video infos section, and press the delete button on the bottom og the page.

18. What should I do if I find a bug or display problem with Mixzik ?
